Description of item for sale: This set of antique solid wood doors was recovered from an abandoned chateau in the city of Narbonne in the south of France (see photos of the chateau at the end of the photo gallery). They date to the late 1800's/early 1900's. They are made from old growth fir that is in excellent condition with no woodworm or dry rot whatsoever. They are straight and not warped in any way. Notice the elegant carvings, original bronze locks and hardware. As you can see in the photos, the paint is in poor condition and preparation and repainting is definitely needed. They were used as interior doors but because they are solid wood they should be suitable for exterior use. Dimensions: 97" high, 52" wide and 1.5" thick.
