  • Condition: Salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine. It's painted white on the front and stained and finished on the back. The door has a lovely arrangement of 6 true-divided windows, each with its original, beveled glass. Considering that the door is 80 - 100 years old, it's in excellent condition. It has the typical scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, warp, rot, or any serious breaks. Once the door is sanded for a new coat of paint, or stripped to refinish, most of the blemishes would be removed. What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear a "character mark."All of the glass is intact and also in great shape with only light scratches.The door is set up to swing into the home towards the left.     Antique Side or Back Door w/6 Windows & 4 Panels
    Gorgeous, antique, exterior  door salvaged from an old home in
    Northeastern PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or  pine. It's painted white on the front and stained and  finished on the back.
    Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine  hewn  from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant,    rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from   trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than   young  pine.
    The door
    has  a lovely arrangement of 6 true-divided windows, each with its original, beveled  glass. There are 4 raised panels below the windows.
    Hardware
    :
    The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store)

    Uneven Height
    :
    The door's  height was unevenly cut by 1/4" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut it to an even 82 3/8", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make  it bigger

    Condition
    :
