  • Condition: Salvaged from a newly-remodeled,1920's home in the most affluent neighborhood in Scranton, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine and is completely painted. The door's width was unevenly cut by 1/4". The uneven cut was made to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to an even 31 3/4", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make it bigger. No hardware included. Considering the door's age, it's in great condition. It has the typical scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. However, there is no warp, rot, or serious breaks or cracks. Once the door is sanded for a new coat of paint, or stripped to refinish, most of the blemishes would be removed. What remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear as a "character mark."The glass is also in great shape with only subtle scratches.     Antique Solid Wood Door w/Beveled Mirror & 5 Panels
    Elegant,
    antique,  interior door salvaged
    from a newly-remodeled,1920's home in the most affluent  neighborhood in Scranton, PA
    . The door  is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine wood and is completely painted.
    When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft    wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same    insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old  pine, hewn from trees  hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much  harder and stronger than young  pine.
    It has 5 recessed (flat) panels on the exterior side and a full-length, beveled glass mirror on the  interior. The glass is old, original, and has 1" bevel.
    Uneven Width
    :
    The door's width was unevenly cut by 1/4". The uneven cut was made to compensate  for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut the door to  an even 31 3/4", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build  it up to make it bigger

    The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).

    Condition
