Charming, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA.
It's made of solid  Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted white on both sides.
It has a traditional,  Victorian style design with 4 raised, vertical panels (2 longer on top of 2  shorter).
Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn  from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant,   rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from  trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than  young  pine.
Hardware

oor  is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period  hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store)

Uneven
Height
:
The  height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/2" at some point,  most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor.  We could cut it to an even 73 1/2", cut it narrower and/or shorter,  or even build it up to make it  bigger

Condition
:
Considering  the door is over 100 years old, it's in great shape. The worst blemishes are  along the bottom edge (see last 2 photos). These will disappear or diminish  drastically after stripping and sanding. There are no  breaks, cracks,  gouges, rot, or warp. The door is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime  of service.
Refinish/Repaint
:
We  could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the doors to prepare  it for you to repaint or refinish.

Swing
:
The  hinge mortises span the thickness of the door, which allows you to install your  hinges on either side of the door and define which way the door swings.
Modification
:
We    could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could    make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace wooden panels with    glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small    description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
