  • Condition: Salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. It's made of solid Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted white on both sides. The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/2" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut it to an even 73 1/2", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make it bigger. Considering the door is over 100 years old, it's in great shape. The worst blemishes are along the bottom edge (see last 2 photos). These will disappear or diminish drastically after stripping and sanding. There are no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, or warp. The door is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service. The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door, which allows you to install your hinges on either side of the door and define which way the door swings. 30"x74"
    Antique SOLID Wood Interior Door
    w/4 Panels
Charming, antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA.
It's made of solid  Douglas Fir or pine, and is painted white on both sides.
It has a traditional,  Victorian style design with 4 raised, vertical panels (2 longer on top of 2  shorter).
Today, "pine" is known as a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn  from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant,   rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from  trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than  young  pine.
