    Antique Solid Wood Doors
    w/5 Horizontal Panels
    * Although there are 2 doors available, the list price is for 1 door only.
If you are planning on buying only 1 door please email us after  the auction to let us know which door you'd like. The first 3 photos show  Door#1, and the last 5 photos show Door#2.
Robust, antique, interior doors salvaged from a newly-remodeled,1920's home in the most affluent neighborhood in Scranton, PA.
The doors are made of solid pine or Douglas Fir and are completely painted.  They
have 5 recessed (flat), horizontal, stacked panels on both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap,  weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year  old trees don't have the same insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even  fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds  of years old have. Old pine is also much  harder and stronger than  young  pine.
    Hardware
    :
None  of the doors are equipped with hardware
    .  However, w
e  have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our  physical store.
    * If you would like small recesses for the pulls plugged with  solid wood, email us for a quote.
    Uneven Height
    :
The height  of Door#1 was unevenly cut by 3/4" and the height of Door#2 by 1/4". The  cuts were most likely to accommodate a warped  floor or sagging foundation. We could cut either to an even height, cut it  narrower/shorter, or even build it up to be wider/taller--

    Condition
    :
Considering that the doors are almost 100 years old, they are in great shape! We pulled them directly from the house, so they were handled with  care the whole time.
The only issues to point out are on the hinge stile of Door#2.  There is a thin break from impact next to the top hinge mortise (slot or pocket  where the hinge lays), and I'm not sure what happened under the bottom mortise  but there is some kind of compound or putty about 1/4" thick covering that  corner. If you need 1/4" or more shaved from one side to reduce the width, this  will remove both flaws. If not, we could fix them

Otherwise, expect only nicks, scrapes/chips, and scratches, but no breaks,  cracks, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes  that they have
will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever  remains will be subtle, "character marks."
    Refinish/Repaint
    :
We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the  doors to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish.
See the last photo in  this auction as an example of our work.
Email us with a small description of  what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
    Swing
    :
Door#1  is set up to swing into a room towards the right, or away from the room towards  the left; Door#2 swings in the opposite direction. We could change the swing of  either door--

    Modification
    :
Do you want to make a pair using these 2 doors? Do you want to replace the  panels with glass, screen/mesh, or something else? We could modify the doors to  fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the  height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with  a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
