, antique door salvaged from an old home in Southeastern Minnesota. The door  is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and has a traditional, Victorian style, 5-panel arrangement with 4 vertical panels  divided by a small horizontal panel. The panels are raised on both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft  wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same  insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old  pine, hewn from trees  hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder  and stronger than young  pine.
Hardware
:
The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of  period hardware to outfit them (check out our eBay store).

Uneven Height
:
The door's height was unevenly cut at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut it to an even 87 1/2", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make them  bigger

Condition
:
Considering that the door is over 100 years old, it's in good shape. There is a  break in the bottom, lock  stile corner (see last photo). We could repair this--email  us for a quote. Otherwise, the door is strong, sturdy, and only has the typical  nicks and scratches that you would expect to find on an old door.
Refinish/Repaint
:
We   could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare    it for you to repaint or refinish.

Swing
:
The hinge mortises span the thickness of the door which means that you could  install your hinges on either side of the door and define it's swing.
Modification
:
We   could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could   make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace wooden panels with   glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small   description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
