Antique Solid Fir Interior Door

Elegant, interior door  salvaged from an old home in Northeastern PA. It is made of solid Douglas Fir  or pine and is completely painted. It has  a traditional, Colonial style 6 raised panel arrangement on both sides.
When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and    soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the  same insect-resistant,  rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that  old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old.
Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine

:
The door is  not equipped with any hardware
. However, w
e have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store.

Condition
:
Overall, the door is strong, sturdy, and in great condition. There are 2 bigger  breaks along the lock stile edge (see last photo). Those could get patched with  solid wood--email us for a quote.
Otherwise, the door has the typical nicks, scrapes, and  scratches that you would expect to find on 100+ year old door. These blemishes
will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks."
Refinish/Repaint
:
We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish.

:
The  door  is set up to swing into a room towards the left or away from the room towards  the right. We could change the swing

We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
