Description
This is an interesting piece of currency. It's a 1950 B 100 Dollar Bill with Faulty Alignment, also called a Miscut Error. What's really interesting is that I've looked for one of these for about 30 years, when I was collecting numismatic coins. My father told me about faulty alignment errors when I was a kid. It really interested me how money is printed and some runs can be so faulty the Federal Reserve just shreds them--shreds money! It seemed so crazy to think about it. But there are these rare cases, where the runs are faulty because they cut the sheets of paper
just a little
wrong, but not so wrong they have to shred them. And they end up being passed along into the hands of the public.
So I found it, and in some ways, still do find it, fascinating. After many, many years of this fun and rewarding hobby, of collecting rare pieces like this, I eventually had to sell my collection. And now, after giving up looking for a faulty alignment bill, I miraculously was handed one at the bank when making a withdrawal about a month ago! Unfortunately, I just don't have the patience to start collecting again. It pains me to have to sell this bill. But I hope someone with the same passion can give this collectors item a good home.
The bill is in good shape. See picture for condition (circulated, good condition).
For the new lucky owner, this item will be shipped with USPS First Class with tracking number. No international sales.
