The cover reads: "MANUAL Of Drill Regulations. GILBERT MACHINE GUN SECTION...The A.C. Gilbert Co., New Haven Ct., U.S.A."
Inside is a forward by A.C. Gilbert, president of the Gilbert Company, that produced a wide range of Erector Sets, Mysto Magic Sets, Eletrical Toy Sets and several other educational toys aimed at boys at the time.
The book is dated 1917.
There are also detailed illustrations of the toy machine gun. The booklet goes on to say that the owner of the machine gun should gather 7 other boys and give himself the rank of "corporal" and be in charge of the the other 7 lads. There are specific duties for the boys, as well as various marching & drill regulations.
If you have one of these old toy guns, this would be great to display with it.
The booklet measures 4 & 1/2 x 6 inches and has 16 pages.
Condition is good. There is some soiling, moisture damage. All pages complete.
